Strengthening of Pharmaceutical Industries (SPI)

Scheme for Strengthening of Pharmaceuticals Industry (SPI) of the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India addresses the demand and requirement for support to already existing pharma clusters and MSMEs to improve productivity, quality, and sustainability.   The scheme launched on July 21, 2022 by Hon’ble Minister of Health and Family Welfare The scheme is having a budget allocation of Rs.500 crore divided into 3 sub schemes viz., I. Assistance to Pharmaceutical Industry for Common Facilities (APICF) (Rs.178.40 crore); II. Pharmaceutical Technology Upgradation Assistance Scheme (PTUAS) (Rs.300.10 crore); III. Pharmaceutical & Medical Devices Promotion and Development Scheme (PMPDS) (Rs.21.10 crore).  SIDBI is the Project Management Consultant (PMC) for the Scheme.
